Trayer Linear Actuator for Padmount Applications
The Trayer Linear Actuator has a 30-year, maintenance-free design life, and has been tested to 10,000 switching operations. Trayer’s Linear Actuator provides a reliable means of electrically operating your padmount switches with no unsightly motor operator boxes hanging on the outside of the switchgear enclosure.
The actuator is installed in the switch cable compartment without increasing the size of the switchgear enclosure. Installation is quick and simple. Mounting brackets for these actuators come preinstalled on SCADA TEC and Choice padmount switchgear. It is designed with 24 VDC for SCADA control applications or 120 VAC if required for other applications. Operation time is about four seconds.
Trayer Lithium Sulfur Dioxide Battery Power Pack Pendant Control
The Trayer Lithium Sulfur Dioxide Battery Power Pack Pendant Control is rated for 200 open and 200 close switching operations. The battery manufacturer rates the batteries for a ten-year shelf life. The power pack has the same standard 24 VDC rating as used in SCADA RTUs. This allows for an easy future transition to a SCADA controlled switch without replacing the motor operators.
A lineman carrying a single pendant control could plug into any number of operators and operate the switch open or closed. Indicator lights on the pendant control illuminate, showing when the switch is in the open or closed position.
Potential transformers trickle charging circuits required for typical battery charging systems are eliminated along with their associated maintenance problems.
